Legal Information - Company Details, Contact & Compliance

1. About This Legal Information Page

This page sets out the legal and company information for this website and for the business that operates it. It explains who we are, how we are registered, what you may and may not do with the site, how we handle liability, and how our relationship with you is governed. It also points you to the other policies that apply when you browse, enquire, book a course, or buy equipment and services from us.

This legal information page was last updated on 30 October 2026. Where the wording of this page refers to "we", "us", "our" or "the Company", it means the operator identified in section 2 below. Where it refers to "you", it means the visitor, learner, customer or prospective customer using the site.

Please read this page together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Payment and Refund Policy, each of which is available from the footer of every page of this website. If anything in this page conflicts with a signed contract between us, the signed contract takes priority.

2. Identity of the Website Operator and Its Role

The website published at penmira is owned and operated by Finepoint Broadcast Limited. The Company is responsible for the content of this website, for the courses, technical information and resources published on it, and for any goods or services offered through it. All enquiries, orders and contracts made through this website are made with Finepoint Broadcast Limited and not with any individual member of staff, contributor, or third-party supplier.

The Company operates as a commercial business. It provides an informative resource dedicated to audiovisual production excellence, covering broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and streamlined workflows for television networks and live events. Some parts of the site are made available free of charge as general information; other parts, including training courses, may be chargeable and are supplied under our Terms and Conditions.

We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website, in the sense used in the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. Legal Form, Registration Details, Tax Identifiers and Responsible Representatives

The following company details are published in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 (Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015). They must appear on our websites, business letters, order forms and emails.

  • Full registered name: Finepoint Broadcast Limited.
  • Legal form: a private company limited by shares, incorporated in England and Wales.
  • Company registration number: 01786138.
  • Part of the United Kingdom in which the company is registered: England and Wales.
  • Registrar: Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff, CF14 3UZ, which maintains the public register where our full filing history, accounts, confirmation statements and current officer appointments can be inspected free of charge.
  • Registered office and principal place of business: shown on this website as Unit 53, Lidgate Crescent, Langthwaite Grange Industrial Estate, South Kirkby, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF9 3NR. Correspondence sent to that address is treated as served on the Company in the ordinary course of business.
  • Share capital: where any reference to our share capital is made in our documents, the reference is to paid-up share capital.
  • Tax identifiers: our VAT registration number, where applicable, is shown on every VAT invoice we issue. If you need a VAT invoice for a purchase, please contact us using the details in section 4.
  • Responsible representatives: the persons authorised to represent the Company are its directors, whose current appointments are recorded on the public register at Companies House. Directors may also be named as signatories on business correspondence; where the name of one director appears in a business letter other than in the body text or as a signatory, the names of all directors are disclosed.

We are not currently required to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 because our global turnover is below the £36 million threshold. We keep that threshold under review and would publish a statement prominently on the home page of this website if the duty were triggered.

4. Registered Office, Contact Details and How to Reach Us

We want it to be easy for you to reach a real person. Our published contact routes are as follows.

  • Email: [email protected] — the fastest route for general enquiries, course bookings, technical questions and data protection requests.
  • Telephone: 01977 659880 — available during normal UK office hours for sales, service and support enquiries.
  • Postal address and registered office: Unit 53, Lidgate Crescent, Langthwaite Grange Industrial Estate, South Kirkby, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF9 3NR.
  • Website enquiries: our Contacts page, which includes a contact form. Messages sent through the form are routed to the same team as the email address above.

Please do not send original documents, cash or equipment to the postal address without agreeing this with us first. Legal documents, court papers and formal notices should be sent by post to the registered office and are not validly served by email unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. If you are unsure which route to use, telephone us and we will direct you.

5. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of This Website

This website exists to share practical, professional knowledge about audiovisual production and to promote and administer the courses and technical services that we offer. Its subject matter includes broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, signal flow and connectivity, and the workflows used by television networks, outside broadcast units and live event production teams.

The site is intended for an adult, professional and semi-professional audience: engineers, operators, technical managers, production staff, students on relevant courses, and members of the public with a genuine interest in audiovisual production. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

The content is general and educational. It is not a substitute for a site survey, a formal risk assessment, a manufacturer's installation instructions, or advice from a qualified engineer who has inspected your premises and equipment. If you rely on general information from this website in a specific installation, you do so at your own risk.

The site is aimed primarily at users in the United Kingdom. Where a page relates primarily to an overseas entity or an overseas event, the parts of the site relating to our United Kingdom business remain subject to the requirements described on this page.

6. Rules for Access to and Acceptable Use of the Website

You may browse this website and use its content for your own internal, non-commercial reference. When you use the site you agree not to do any of the following:

  • use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of any other person;
  • copy, scrape, harvest, mirror or systematically extract content, course material, pricing, contact data or databases, whether by hand, by automated script, or by any other means;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, to any account, or to any server, network or system connected to it, or to circumvent any access control, paywall or password;
  • introduce viruses, malware, spyware, or any other harmful code or material;
  • interfere with the proper working of the site, impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or attempt to disrupt the service to other users;
  • impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation with any organisation;
  • upload or transmit material that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise objectionable;
  • resell, sublicense, rebrand or present our course material or technical documentation as your own.

Where you are given login credentials for a course portal, you must keep them confidential, must not share them, and must tell us promptly if you believe they have been compromised. We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, or to any course, without notice where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken, or to protect our staff, our customers, or the security of the site.

7. Ownership and Permitted Use of Website Content, Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property

All content on this website — text, course materials, diagrams, illustrations, photographs, videos, audio clips, slide decks, configuration examples, downloadable checklists, layout, design and underlying code — is owned by Finepoint Broadcast Limited or is used by us under licence, and is protected by copyright, database rights, design rights and other intellectual property laws.

The Company name, its trading styles, logos, and any other names, marks or logos used on this site are trademarks of Finepoint Broadcast Limited or of their respective owners. Nothing on this page grants you any right to use any trademark, logo or brand name.

Subject to your compliance with these rules, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view this website and to print or download extracts for your own internal reference and professional development. That licence does not permit you to:

  • reproduce, republish or distribute our content for commercial purposes;
  • modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works from our content without our written permission;
  • remove or conceal any copyright, trademark or attribution notice;
  • use our content to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop any automated system, model or dataset without our written permission.

If you believe that material on this site infringes your rights, please contact us at [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify the work and the use complained of, and we will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, remove the material.

8. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitations of Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that the information published on this website is accurate and up to date at the time it is published. Technical subjects change quickly, and manufacturers' specifications, standards and best practice can be revised without notice. We therefore make no warranty, express or implied, that every page, diagram, figure or specification is complete, current or free from error, and we may update, correct or withdraw content at any time.

We aim to keep the website available and secure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. The site may be unavailable during planned maintenance, during emergency work, or as a result of factors outside our reasonable control, including failures in telecommunications networks, hosting services, power supplies, or third-party platforms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties and representations that would otherwise be implied into your use of the site. Our liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, or from reliance on its content, is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the specific course or service to which the claim relates, and (b) one hundred pounds sterling. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing on this page limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing in this page affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

9. External Links and Third-Party Content

This website may refer to, or link to, the websites, documentation, firmware, software or media of third parties, including manufacturers and standards bodies. Those references are provided for convenience and information only. They are not an endorsement of the third party, and we do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices of any third-party site or resource.

When you follow a link away from this site, or when a third party's video, document or service is embedded in one of our pages, that third party's own terms and conditions and privacy notices apply. We recommend that you read them before using their services or providing any personal information to them. If a third-party resource we have linked to becomes inaccurate, inappropriate or unavailable, please tell us at [email protected] so that we can review the reference.

10. Data Protection, Privacy and Cookies (UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR)

We process personal information in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR). This website uses a site-wide cookie banner so that you can accept, refuse or manage non-essential cookies before they are set on your device.

In summary, we collect and use personal information to respond to enquiries made through the Contacts page or by email, to administer course bookings and payments, to provide support, to keep financial and tax records, and to improve the website. Our lawful bases are the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, compliance with our legal obligations, and — where required, for example for marketing emails or non-essential cookies — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site and deliver our courses, such as hosting providers, payment processors and email service providers, and only to the extent they need it in order to provide their services to us. We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for any additional period required by tax, accounting or other law.

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's supervisory authority for data protection. We would prefer the opportunity to resolve your concern first, so please contact us at [email protected].

Further detail — including the specific categories of data we collect, the cookies and similar technologies used in the cookie banner, retention periods, and international transfer safeguards — is set out in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy, both of which are available from the footer of this website and form part of this legal notice.

11. Consumer Contracts, Payment, Cancellation and Refund Arrangements

When we sell goods or services to consumers, we comply with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and, where services are supplied, the Provision of Services Regulations 2009. Where we advertise or sell through this website or by email, the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 also require us to give you clear information about who we are, how to contact us, and the technical steps involved in placing an order.

Before you buy, we give you the main characteristics of the course or item, the total price inclusive of tax, any delivery charges, the arrangements for payment, delivery and performance, and the existence of your cancellation rights. After you buy, we confirm the contract in a durable form, together with a model cancellation form where one is required.

Where you buy as a consumer at a distance, you normally have fourteen days from the day of purchase to cancel without giving a reason. This right does not apply to digital content supplied immediately with your express consent and acknowledgement, to course places that have already been fully performed with your agreement, or to sealed audio or video recordings that have been unsealed. If you cancel within the cooling-off period, we refund payments without undue delay and in any event within fourteen days of being informed of your decision. Faulty goods and services are dealt with under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing here limits your statutory remedies.

Our payment terms, invoicing arrangements, delivery times, cancellation procedure and refund rules are set out in full in our Payment and Refund Policy and in our Terms and Conditions, which are available from the footer of this website. Please read them before placing an order.

12. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights

This legal notice, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with your use of this website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rules of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, nothing in this section prevents you from using any statutory complaint or dispute-resolution route available to you.

We are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution or in any arbitration scheme, and we do not currently do so. If you have a complaint, please raise it with us first at [email protected] or by telephone on 01977 659880, giving us a clear description of the problem, the order or booking reference, and the outcome you are seeking. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and to provide a substantive response within twenty working days.

13. Changes to This Page, Severability and Contact Route

We review this legal information page at least once a year and whenever there is a material change in our company details, our services, or the law that applies to us. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date of the most recent update is stated at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on the site. Continued use of the website after a change takes effect means that you accept the updated version.

If any provision of this page is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full force. A failure by us to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. This page does not create any rights for third parties, except for members of the Finepoint Broadcast Limited group and our successors, who may rely on it.

If you have any question about this page, about our company information, or about how our legal policies apply to you, please contact us at [email protected], telephone 01977 659880, or write to us at Unit 53, Lidgate Crescent, Langthwaite Grange Industrial Estate, South Kirkby, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, WF9 3NR.
