Last updated: 30 October 2026
Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of courses and related digital resources offered through the website operated by penmira. The services covered include access to informative materials on audiovisual production excellence, encompassing broadcast studio design, camera control systems, professional lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and streamlined workflows for television networks and live events. The policy governs transactions for both one-time course purchases and any subscription-based access where applicable. It does not extend to physical goods or third-party services not directly provided by penmira.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges
All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated. Prices include applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) at the current UK rate. Any additional charges such as currency conversion fees imposed by your payment provider or bank will be your responsibility and are not included in the displayed price. penmira reserves the right to adjust prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security
We accept major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as payments via bank transfer where pre-arranged. All payments are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Payment authorisation occurs at the time of order placement. penmira does not store your full card details. In the event of a payment failure due to insufficient funds or other issues, you will be notified immediately and the order will not be processed until resolved.
Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed
Upon successful payment, you will receive an email confirmation containing your order details and access instructions. A binding contract is formed when we send this confirmation email. Access to digital course content is granted immediately upon confirmation unless otherwise specified. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your order details before completing payment.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving confirmation without giving a reason. For digital content, this right may be lost once you begin downloading or streaming the material, provided you have given prior express consent to commence performance. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via the contact form on our Contacts page.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services
Refunds are available for cancellations within the 14-day period if no substantial access to the course content has occurred. Exclusions include completed downloads, streamed sessions, promotional or discounted bundles, and any customised or personalised course materials. Services already commenced or partially used are generally non-refundable. Gift purchases or third-party funded access may have separate terms.
The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund
To request a refund, first log into your account and note your order reference number. Then submit a request using the contact form on the Contacts page, providing your full name, email address associated with the purchase, order number, and a brief explanation. Include any supporting evidence such as screenshots of access issues. Requests received outside the cancellation period will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision
Upon receipt of your request, penmira will inspect the details within five working days. We will verify eligibility based on access logs and policy terms. You will be notified of the decision via email. If approved, processing begins immediately. If rejected, we will explain the reasons and offer alternatives such as a credit note where appropriate.
Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer
Approved refunds are issued using the original payment method. Processing typically takes up to 10 working days, after which funds should appear in your account within an additional 3 to 5 working days depending on your bank. For bank transfers, the timeline may vary. We will provide a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant
For digital courses, refunds are not available once you have accessed more than 20 percent of the content or after the 14-day period. Subscription renewals can be cancelled at any time to prevent future billing, but no prorated refunds are provided for unused portions. Promotional offers and bundle deals are non-refundable after activation. Any free trial periods convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before expiry.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud
In cases of failed payments, we will attempt to notify you and hold the order for up to seven days. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded promptly upon verification. Chargebacks are treated seriously and may result in account suspension. Suspected fraudulent activity will lead to immediate order cancellation and reporting to relevant authorities if necessary, while complying with UK data protection laws.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights include remedies for faulty digital content and the right to a refund or repair where services do not meet the described standards. Nothing in this policy excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
